Although Possumblog no longer exists…

...there are those occasions that simply must be commemorated in some way, if for no other reason than to let random passers-by hear me brag on my kids. And what better way to do that than by using a marsupially-named defunct blog!

In any event, tomorrow is one such occasion, wherein Boy will be tapped into the National Honor Society, and Middle Girl (who is already a member of the NHS) will also be tapped into the Spanish National Honor Society.

Obviously, they get their incredible brainiousness from me.

Middle Girl must have quite a total of frequent flyer points after qualifying for the Spanish National Honor Society.

Any, congrats to the two of them.

Thanks, Steevil! Thankfully, the Spanish thing didn't require travel of any sort--we have a pretty good-sized gaggle of people to practice on around here as it is.

See? Steevil and I were on the same wavelength. As I said privately, I had no idea MG had ever been to Spain.

Now I've said it publicly, too.

Congratulations.

Also, your dateline for this post is my mother's 82nd birthday, so now your defunct blog has been doubly useful in commemorating something you probably never expected.

Thank you, Skinnydan! I think...

And glad to be of service Kitchenhand--tell Mum we all said Happy Birthday! Time to break out the ice cream and ponies!

A little late to the congratulations party, but big conga-rats and woodchucks to your young'uns. Try not to pop too many buttons off or your dress shirt, though a few would be understandable. You'll need to have a few left just in case they choose attending the land of tigers at Auburn. With all of those smarts they'd probably get some decent scholarships too (hopefully!).

Thank you kindly, Spud!

And boy, I sure hope you're right about those scholarships...
