Why is it...

...I can never have brilliant ideas like this?

(I mean, besides that whole "being a moron" deal.)

I do like that idea--wonder if it would be possible to pool the carbon offset assets of us Possumblog readers so that shares in our carbon offsets could be traded and sold by the likes of Messrs Gore and Edwards?

I think it's a great idea! Goes right well with my plan to offer virtual acupuncture via e-mail!

I still think there might be a market for “ethical” offsets.

From what I hear, the Papists had those wrapped up tight until the Lutherans messed it up.

Didn’t say it was a new idea just marketed to the unchurched. The SP’s as O’Rielly calls them. They carry a lot of guilt.

As well they should.

Hmmm...are you saying we should perhaps refer to them as carbon indulgences? And if that is the case, is a Green "Inquisition" close behind?

"Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Algore, and nice green uniforms!"

I think you might want to send the carbon indulgence name to someone like the instapundit. It needs wide distribution.

Unfortunately, it's already been out there in the blogosphere for a while. "Nothing new under the sun," and all.

By George, Terry's right! I really did not think it would be original (for one thing, I NEVER have an original thought) but try Googling "Carbon Indulgences" and see what you get. It appears it has been in use on various blogs for several months at least. So much for Instalanches...
