...I can never have brilliant ideas like this?
(I mean, besides that whole "being a moron" deal.)
I do like that idea--wonder if it would be possible to pool the carbon offset assets of us Possumblog readers so that shares in our carbon offsets could be traded and sold by the likes of Messrs Gore and Edwards?
Posted by: Stan at May 21, 2007 01:37 PMI think it's a great idea! Goes right well with my plan to offer virtual acupuncture via e-mail!
Posted by: Terry Oglesby at May 21, 2007 01:45 PMI still think there might be a market for “ethical” offsets.
Posted by: jim at May 21, 2007 04:16 PMFrom what I hear, the Papists had those wrapped up tight until the Lutherans messed it up.
Posted by: Terry Oglesby at May 21, 2007 04:26 PMDidn’t say it was a new idea just marketed to the unchurched. The SP’s as O’Rielly calls them. They carry a lot of guilt.
Posted by: jim at May 21, 2007 04:33 PMAs well they should.
Posted by: Terry Oglesby at May 21, 2007 04:37 PMHmmm...are you saying we should perhaps refer to them as carbon indulgences? And if that is the case, is a Green "Inquisition" close behind?

Posted by: Terry Oglesby at May 22, 2007 11:29 AMI think you might want to send the carbon indulgence name to someone like the instapundit. It needs wide distribution.
Posted by: jim at May 22, 2007 11:57 AMUnfortunately, it's already been out there in the blogosphere for a while. "Nothing new under the sun," and all.
Posted by: Terry Oglesby at May 22, 2007 12:18 PMBy George, Terry's right! I really did not think it would be original (for one thing, I NEVER have an original thought) but try Googling "Carbon Indulgences" and see what you get. It appears it has been in use on various blogs for several months at least. So much for Instalanches...
