May I invite you to come inside and see my etchings?

Many thanks to Skillzy who yesterday sent notice of an incredibly cool website composed of over 1,000 scanned images from old books, featuring "Remains of Ruined Castles, Deserted Abbeys, Old Manor Houses, mansions and stately homes; also engravings, woodcuts and pictures of Old England and Wales." Just incredible, and the scans are public-domain and royalty-free, which means I can put one up right here for you to look at!

This will have to do until I can get a picture of a real cat to post tomorrow.

Does that mean there is a cat taking up residence at Possum Manor?

::sigh:: Yes. The most expensive free kitten in the known universe.

I like cats.

We kept a half-feral one here for six years. She was a small black cat, about 7 pounds.

Our carport door had and has a window. When she wanted to come in, she would leap up, hang by her claws, and look in the window.

She could scare the living daylights out of you.

In the summer, she liked to sleep on top of the Tahoe. Lyman drove off with her on top one day and we never saw her again.

She was a terrible snot, and I liked her.

The last cat I had, the beloved Booger, would leap from the handrail of the back deck at my parent's house and land on the narrow brick sill on our second floor kitchen window and proceed to rub his head and sides back and forth on the screens. He only fell once.

I miss him still, and I guess it's been 14 years now since he wandered off.

Well good! Its about time. My 2 cats are just about perfect pets and they like me as much as any dog ever did. One of them meets me in the driveway every afternoon when I get home from work.

I just hope the children don't tear it up. They seem to be awfully hard on things...

Did you get a signed contract from the oldest?

Something even better--an enforcer. We've decided to let Rebecca stay at the house this summer, too. So I know the kitty will be fed and cared for.
