...sometimes you still wind up being late. I spent nearly 20 minutes waiting at the 22nd Street exit ramp. Seems there had been a rear-end collision at the foot of the ramp, blocking one of the two lanes. ::sigh::

There's a billion different ways to have a wreck on it, but it rarely happens. I guess everyone, or at least, ALMOST everyone, is wary enough to be extra careful and maybe even occasionally look up from the newspaper, or not try to get stuff out of the microwave.

The only way it doesn't is if the Interstate is completely shut down.
Around here this is usually one of two reasons--a giant coil of steel has fallen off a truck and punched a hole in the deck, or a gasoline tanker has hit an abutment and burst into flames.
