BUT!

I just got PHOTOSHOP installed on my work computer!! HOORAY!!

Now I can--uhhh, do...things! With--wiiiith...uhhhhmmm. STUFF! Yeah! I can do things with stuff!

Does anyone know how to use this?

The reason I ask, is that in the infinite wisdom that you find only in a bureaucracy, I now have a spiffy powerful new software on my computer with which I am unfamiliar--and there is no one who can train me to use it. I asked the MIS guy who put it on, "Hey, when will there be a training class?" He shrugged his shoulders and said there are probably some online, and that he's still trying to figure it out by himself as well.

BUT HEY! I'VE GOT PHOTOSHOP!

I could sit down with you and give you a crash course over a couple of hours, but being as how you're there and I'm here that ain't agonna work.

It is Photoshop Version 7.0, and I am going to figure it out, one way or another--meaning I have a feeling Dave will wind up writing an online tutorial.

Woohoo! Now Terry can photoshop himself into wild & wacky situations!

One piece of advice - learn to work in layers. By adding changes to a new layer (and saving all along) you can dispose of the fourth stupid change imposed from above after they realize they liked it the first way better. Without messing up all the other stuff you did that has to stay. So you don't have to do it all over from the beginning.

(Why yes, this has happened to me. Repeatedly. Why do you ask?)

Check out

It's a wealth of knowledge (but the search function kind of sucks) Try searching the site through Google for better results.

Thanks for the tips, guys, although Dan, I think at this point I'm more interested in mischief with the photo I have of Loretta Young.

I'll check that site, Nate--a couple of the sites I found so far are a bit like those "How to Draw Cartoons" books: "Draw two circles, then fill in everything else!"

Good grief, now we have to do Nate and "the other Nate". Or Nate and "not that Nate". Or something.

Actually, I've been referring to Nate "Not Nate McCord" Cooke as "Nathan" most of the time to keep from there being as much confusion. Of course, I COULD go back to calling Nate "Not Nate Cooke" McCord "Nathaniel," just for old time's sake.
