Upside of Carpooling With Your Wife?

Uhh, hm. Well, gimme a little while to think about that one.

You save gas.
You get your heart rate up waiting.
You save wear and tear on the car.
Your nerves get a good workout.
You are learning patience or not.
Did I mention you save gas?

There is the occasional flash of knee.

Assuming you are child-free during carpool, you can actually have a conversation without being interrupted. A very underrated thing in my opinion.

Plus you get to ride in a car with a hot chick.

Oh, I've mentioned all those benefits before, but this morning they seemed not to be able to overcome the intense throbbing pain I get when a certain someone decides she wants to dawdle around before getting ready for school, and is reinforced in this behavior by her mother, who likewise is quite slow in preparing to go anywhere. All the other kids and I were ready to go twenty minutes ahead of time. Yet, I still wind up being twenty minutes late for work...

I'm thinking the gas savings isn't big enough to warrant the continual stress on my arteries. Either that, or I just need to stop caring about being prompt.

Y'all sound like the mirror image of my family. I am OBSESSIVE about being on time -- usually EARLY. My husband pays no attention to time.

Do you get big bulgey veins on your neck and turn red and sigh loudly and hold your head in your hands and moan softly and drive ninety?

Posted by: Terry Oglesby at September 27, 2005 10:20 AM

Yep... all but the "drive ninety" part. I won't drive if he's in the vehicle with me... too many "helpful hints" on his part.

I was just joking about the ninety part, too. It's hard to go that fast on neighborhood streets.
