And upon the Lord's day...

...as morning drew nigh, I woke up and scraped the ground glass out of my eyes, got my shower, got dressed, got everyone else up, got us to church, managed to stay awake for all parts of the morning, set off for Ashley's granparents' house over on the other side of the county, but then had to make a detour BACK to the house to pick up some more of those stinking coupon books to sell to them, THEN on to their house, ate lunch, visited, then had to come back home because it turns out that the children STILL HAD SOME HOMEWORK to do.

Grr.

Luckily for me, it included TYPING! YEA, TYPING! Wheee!

Ashley had a single pager about her favorite person, which is Reba's mom, at least for the purpose of the assignment, and then Rebecca had what was supposed to be an two-pager narrative, but was more like a three-quarter pager. Typed those, then on back to church, then got home and then Rebecca edited and extended her paper, which I then corrected.

After they all got into bed and went to sleep, I finished up my weekend by typing the answers to Reba's class assignment for tonight. It only took until midnight.

And now?

Well, I'm here!

And doing what?

Typing, because I am a moron.

Ummmm, Mr. Oglesby, sir? I have a question...

Why on earth are you doing all the typing for your family??!?! Are their hands broke??> This is clearly something they could -- and should -- learn to do themselves, especially the children, who someday will have to leave your warm, safe abode and actually earn a living for themselves. Said living might include doing some typing, or working on a computer. The experience might do them some good down the line, and this would free you up to do more goofing off... or napping.

I'm just sayin'...

Yeah! What GOYL said! You've already said there is more than one 'puter in your estate, make the offspring learn to use that multi-keyed thing that sits in front of the pretty colored box!

Well, for the younger two, it's a matter of not knowing how. I insisted that Rebecca take typing this year, and she's doing that, and Ashley will be taking it next semester. They can hunt and peck, but it takes too long.

AS FOR WIFE, this is a way to get her paper finished without having to spend every single stinking minute at her side when she gets freaked out when the words go off the bottom of the screen or it take more than two seconds for the page to save. I've let her type stuff before, and trust me, no matter how bad it is, it's still not so bad as having to jump up every three seconds to explain how to do something with the computer. Better to let her write, hand it off to me to type, and for her to continue writing.
