Eliminating another possibility.

Thanks to all of you who asked about Miss Reba--she came through her violatio--procedure just fine yesterday. The doctor didn't see anything out of the ordinary, so we're still at a loss for a physiological explanation for her constant distress. Which gets us back to it being stress-induced. Which is very difficult to fix. It's not one of those things where you can just say, "Well, stop being stressed out by idiots because life's too short to go around like this." I mean, you CAN say it, but until she decides to change her outlook, talking doesn't do much good. I have taken to quoting from that famous Roman philosopher Bob the Roman, who said, "nolite te bastardes carborundum."

Anyway, the ordeal itself wasn't quite as bad as she had feared since she was sedated, and since it only lasted a little while. The worst part of the whole thing was when the valet brought the van back around to the front and when I got in I found that the driver's seat was moved so far back an elephant could have gotten behind the wheel.

The actual worst part was the preparation, which consisted of a superblowout of her innards. Afterwards, if you were real quiet, you could hear that whistling sound the wind makes in old Western movies. Not really.

ANYway, she's back at work today, and so am I.

When I get stressed, my left shoulder blade starts to tingle, like it's asleep. I've just learned to accept it, I'm glad it's not something more painful. Hopefully Reba will figure out a way to lose some of that stress (one that doesn't involve firearms).

I think I've said this before - hockey is a wonderful stress releaser.

Having a hockey stick in your hand can be a wonderful stress reliever, especially when you have something to swing it at.

I'd like to pray for Reba, but I'm not sure where to start. I can imagine how frustrated you must feel, both with the situation and your feelings of helplessness to do much about it.

For now the only thing that comes to mind is for both of you to pray together, where you can give her words of encouragement and urge her not to let others take away her joy. Remind her of who she should be trying to please.
[Well, maybe I can pray some of the above for her!]

Hmm--maybe an exciting combination of hockey, gunplay, and prayer...

Hi Terry,

Too much stress overwhelms the active cultures that

live in anyones stomach & downsteam parts.

If Miss Reba can eat YOGURT on STRESSFUL occasions

she may experience speedy relief.

Please keep us informed.

Thanks

Well, that's something she hasn't tried, and she does like yogurt. I'll pass it along (so to speak) to her and see if it gives her any relief. And thanks for dropping by!

Nothing says technical medical procedure quite like "superblowout of her innards". Is that a quote directly from WebMD?

Mmmm, Can't imagine why she would be stressed with her own baseball team and very odd arch. and website rambler.

Seriously, hope she is well. Let me know.

Well, I keep the stress of Possumblog a secret from her--there's only so much she could stand.

But thank you for the kind words on her behalf. I figure we'll eventually figure out what's wrong with her.

And no, "the innard superblowout" is from the Possumblog Lexicon of Medical Terminology, First Edition. (Available on Amazon for $23.45)

Lexicon. Wow that's an impressive word. I am also very excited that the book is available for reference.

I do my part to ensure the world is as educated as possible. Even if it means making up a lot of junk.
