Maybe you just had to be there.

We were at lunch Sunday after church and somehow (and I’m not sure how, exactly) the subject of popular singers came up, in particular, one Miss B. Knowles.

As the kids chattered, Catherine (who turns 13 today, by the way) suddenly got a perplexed look on her face. “Wait—her last name is Knowles?”

Without missing a beat, Rebecca looked at her and replied, “Well, yeah—what did you think it was, ‘Yoncé’!?”

For some reason, that really struck me as funny, and nearly caused me to snort sesame chicken out of my nose.

Happy B-day to the newly minted teen! Hard to believe she's just a few years away from leaving the nest. Good thing she has a big sister to keep her in line (for now).

Be careful with that sesame chicken through the nose - you wouldn't want a sesame plant to sprout up there. Nose hair is tough enough to keep after.

Thanks Marc! Yep, it is hard to believe Tiny Terror is now Teen Terror. ::sigh::

And you are correct about the sesame seeds finding purchase. Thankfully, nothing appears to be amiss. Yet.

Are Boy & Bek trying to get driving privileges yet?

She's been driving for over a year now, and he'll be getting his license in May. ::sigh:: I'm a danged old man.
