Random Fleeting Political Comment of the Day

Regarding the recent dustup and handwringing over whether one candidate or another would be where he or she is in the Presidential race were it not for various physical characteristics, one thing is exceedingly clear: the number of elected officials who have attained their positions based solely upon their own brilliance or competence is vanishingly small, almost to the point of being non-existent.

Bite your tongue!

Last thing we need is those lunatics realizing "Congress" is merely ancient Sanskrit for "Keep the Incompetent and Maladjusted away from the Normal People"

Eh. As if they'd care what people thought about them.

Seems another of the enduring qualities of the political class is a complete lack of shame.

Completely off topic:

Q: Four Alabama football players are in a car. Who's driving?

A: The police.

It is a sad and telling state of affairs that when a woman in Tuscaloosa called the police recently and told them there were 2 men trying to break in her house and asked for assistance, the desk sergeant said they were too busy at the moment to respond, and asked her to just get their jersey numbers and they would get them in the morning.

Just wanted to let you know that Mrs. A and I were wondering just what you were doing wandering down the side of the road by the hoity-toity (that's a highly technical term ... you could look it up if it confuses you) country club yesterday morning.

A possum sighting always leads to a discussion of you (go figure). Glad to see you're able to at least keep the rust off the padlock to the Possumblog vaults (the Possumcave?).

LITTLE A!! Yeah, I know what you mean--I think of you every time I see an aardvark when I'm out at the mall or the grocery store!

As for the oxidation, I wish I'd have invested in WD-40.

Hope all the family is doing well--come over this weekend and we'll get out the Chinese checkers. (Please bring marbles.)

And now for something almost completely different ...

Clemson freshman Oglesby isn't afraid to go long

Unfortunately Freshman Oglesby went long a few times at the end of his last game, came up short and was not able to lead his team to victory. Oh well, maybe Sophomore Oglesby will have better success.
