I now have voice mail. And not just any voice mail, either--this thing will send an e-mail to me with a .wav file attached of the message that I can listen to! I feel so very, very 21st Century!
Thank you, Phone Guy!
Now then, back to the salt mine.
Oh, and I found out it's not really salt--best as I can tell, it's a giant septic tank.
Posted by Terry Oglesby at April 12, 2007 01:54 PMI have never seen one of those voicemails--how does it work (generate an email to be sent)? Is it part of your computer (a software package?) or is it a separate hardware device with some sort of USB connectivity? And can we email IT?
Posted by: Stan at April 12, 2007 02:20 PMMy voicemail is like that and my phone is voice over IP.
Posted by: jim at April 12, 2007 02:48 PMThe system is Cisco Unity, and it somehow interacts with our Microsoft Outlook (I suspect it has to do with spider monkeys) to generate a phone message notification and attachment. You can also call in and get your voice mail just like a regular system.
Posted by: Terry Oglesby at April 12, 2007 02:50 PMDoes this mean Chet is on the unemployment line?
Posted by: Larry Anderson at April 12, 2007 02:54 PMNo, we're talking about my paying job, not the volunteer work I do as maniacal dictator of the Axis of Weevil. Chet is still safe.
For now.
