No, but I've heard other things.

The lovely Jordana Adams sends along this e-mail:

You've probably heard this before, but did you know your spacing is funny and that the sidebar is missing from Possumblog?

Such a sweet-talker, that one!

But no, it looks okay to me from this computer. As I told Jordana, though, if you're viewing this with Firefox, it does NOT look the way it looks in IE. It's laid out using IE, and my crappy 800x600 monitor. If you're using something else, it's going to look wonky and I don't know how to make it property display for all settings and browsers.

SO--are any of the rest of you having trouble with the way it's displaying? Is it a new thing? Are you using something other than IE?

UPDATE: Okay, I've undone a change I made this morning--hit reload and let me know if anything changes, please.

It's not trouble, just different. The sidebar is narrower and the entries (both the ones on the side and the links on top below the title) are displayed with a much smaller font than what I have seen in the past. I'm using IE6 at 1024x768.

Time to get out the CSS tools.

Looks good on my screen but then I usually don't complain about free stuff--much. The side bar covers about 1/3rd of the right side of the screen.

I am using Firefox, but it has always looked fine until today.

I'm with the lovely and harried Mrs. Adams - you look normal (so to speak) in Firefox until today. IE looks as good as can be expected.

It was ok this am in firefox, now it's all wonky.

I'm using IE, but it looks fine. I haven't noticed any difference today.

Broken in Firefox! What happens is the sidebar gets pushed down to the bottom and is centered there. I had this problem once a long time ago and fixed it...can't remember how though.

Let me try something...

Okay, Marc, Jordana, Dan, Sarah, Skillzy--how's this?

Posted by: Terry Oglesby at March 26, 2007 03:47 PM

It looks all spiffy and shiny again.

Posted by: Jordana at March 26, 2007 03:55 PM

Anyone else?

Posted by: Terry Oglesby at March 26, 2007 04:02 PM

It looks pretty much normal in Firefox v. 2 for me now. This morning it was looking somewhat skewed but you have restored it as far as I can tell.

Reads just fine upside down from here.

Silly Australian--you don't have to read it upside down! You're supposed to turn your COMPUTER upside down.

As for the problem, this morning I was trying to get the weekly quote centered since it didn't take up the whole space. At one time, I could swear I had a div align="justify" up there in the code somewhere for the quotes, but I think I must have erased it at some time in the past. Anyway, I tried to fix it by just putting in 'center' in pointy brackets. It made the quote centered, but apparently broke everything apart in Firefox. So I took it back out. The quote justifies left, but it's not really that bad.

I may have mis-stated my problems with IE. My perspective is probably warped (no surprise there!) since I use Firefox at home, but can't use it here at work. Firefox displays Possumblog much differently than IE.

It seemed like the font for your lists of links was smaller in IE, but I may have to blame my old tired brain for poor memory. Can't be due to thinking about "it" all the time ... :}

It is fixed now. But you knew that.

Posted by: skillzy at March 27, 2007 08:16 AM

Marc, are you talking about IT, as in Information Technology, or "it," as in food? ;)

If you ain't gettin' it, then I ain't goin' further with it. Besides, I'm hungry now for some strange reason ...
