I will fight no more forever.

U of I: Mascot will no longer perform

I wonder how long it will be before members of a certain Peaceful Religion will start demanding that schools with names like Crusaders and Knights and Padres and Deacons start being a little more sensitive to their feelings.

Ah, but you forget about our brethren in the animal kingdom. How about the pain & suffering inflicted on the proud bulldog, the delicate and reserved wildcat, dare I even suggest the noble War Eagle? Their history and tradition misused for the mere exploitation of a sporting event.

Seriously, don't any of these people have anything useful to contribute to society?

No.

War Eagle has such negative overtones. Peace Monkeys would be much less threatening. That is, as long as the monkeys are OK with it.

Well, let's just face it--sports are bad in general because they stress horrid things such as competition and teamwork. And they perpetuate the patriarchy!

(Sorry about that--I'm trying out to be John Edwards' blogger. I'm still a bit shy about using naughty language, though, so I might not have what they're looking for.)
