Look! Via the ever-efficient Jordana Adams, a quiz I can do real good on!
85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don't get scores that high! Good show, old chap!

And no, I didn't cheat.

You paid attention during 100% of high school!

Stan,
Terry must have lost a step by attending Auburn.
I also scored 100%.

Posted by: Terry Oglesby at November 30, 2006 12:04 PMI, too, scored a 100, but only because I cheated and asked Lyman about the area of the right triangle.
Posted by: Janis Gore at November 30, 2006 12:13 PMAs I said, if only I could remember some math, I wouldn't have scored so low. Boo hoo. Can I still hang out with the smart folk?
Posted by: Jordana at November 30, 2006 12:14 PMYeah, what she said.
Posted by: Janis Gore at November 30, 2006 12:20 PMJordana and Janis, it's all up to Larry and Stan if they'll let us continue to associate with them. I hope it doesn't require a lot of mushy sweet-talk to convince them.
Posted by: Terry Oglesby at November 30, 2006 12:23 PMThe right triangle is a bit of a trick question. It is one half of a 3x4 rectangle.
Not knowing Stan's age, I shouldn't attribute my score to early 2oth Century education. It is mostly because I read everything and remember tons of generally useless information.
Posted by: Larry Anderson at November 30, 2006 12:56 PMIf my geometry teacher in high school had put it that plainly rather than having us remember a formula, I wouldn't have missed the question, Mr. Anderson.
Posted by: Janis Gore at November 30, 2006 01:01 PMWell, I actually followed Larry's logic exactly when I came to the question about the area of the triangle--I used the same reasoning. I must also say that I have read widely myself and generally am a fount of useless information as well. Larry probably DOES some things well, though.
But as far as I am concerned a score of 65% qualifies you for membership in the elite society of our acquaintances. (grin)
Posted by: Stan at November 30, 2006 01:35 PMI did this on my blog several weeks ago. I think I got a score of 91%, I used the modern version of peruse instead of the dictonary version. Bad Tony no Cookies.
