...this interesting article via The Brothers Judd on the merits of eating walnuts and cooking with walnut oil.

Sounds like a marvelous way to make fried Coca-Cola a much healthier snack!

Actually this would be a possible profit center for Possumblog Kitchens: a new line of walnut toppings for Cornatees (TM) and the other staple products.

That's possible--I'd never really considered walnuts and manatees as something that went together, but it certainly is worth exploring.

Walnut oil has the other benefit of being kosher for Passover. Corn oil and several others are not, being Kitniyot. Do not ask, as you will not like the explanation.

I have to admit I did not know that about corn oil not being kosher for Passover. Heck, I guess I never had heard the term "kitniyot." But this page gives an explanation of the term that was sufficient for me.
