Winner of Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo stripped of title

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — The winner of the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo has been stripped of his title after taking a lie detector test that gave "unfavorable" results.

Do they regularly polygraph fishermen? What about the fish?

Well, we didn't have to worry about lying fisherman until after the Late Unpleasantness, when Yankee carpetbaggers came down here and taught us poor gullible souls how to tell untruths and such!

(In actuality, fishing tournaments like this are hard to regulate unless you have a marshall on every boat to observe the catch. There is the possibility of both honest and dishonest errors, and the polygraphy is seen as a way to attempt to keep things as free of abuse as possible.)
