Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

Hastert lashes out at Justice Dept.

Cry me a river, Denny.

I wrote my Congressman yesterday to ask him if Congress was now above the law. I don't expect an answer.

In a former life, I was an investigator of alleged improprieties. Whenever I heard the kind of static Hastert and Pelosi are putting out, I dug a little deeper. Amazing how often I found something.

I can see where there might be a concern that things were handled properly, but all the squealing sounds suspicious.

I will say that I bet the day after there were a bunch of boxes that walked out of the COB.

You think so? One of my partners' Father-in-law was in the office this afternoon. He said he had lunch with his Congressman earlier this week and asked him if they had all completely lost their minds.

I have resolved to use idiot and crook instead of Congressman from now on. It is more accurate and saves scarce electrons.

POLITICS, n.
A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage.

POLITICIAN, n.
An eel in the fundamental mud upon which the superstructure of organized society is reared. When we wriggles he mistakes the agitation of his tail for the trembling of the edifice. As compared with the statesman, he suffers the disadvantage of being alive.

Ambrose Bierce
