Because I knew you'd want to know.

Last night's supper: pork roast, black-eyed peas, and turnip greens.

Because I knew you'd want to know: jealous.

Francesca, it might lessen your envy if you knew we were out of pepper sauce for the turnip greens.

(And for the ones of you who don't know what that is, it's not salsa or picante sauce; rather, it's a fine old Southern condiment that's the vinegar from pickled peppers. A teaspoon or so cuts any bitter flavor or oiliness, and gives them a nice flavor.)

What, no biscuits?

Come, now, Marc. He's already down to one thumb.

Cornbread, but I didn't eat enough of it to consider it part of the meal.

Dumb old carbohydrates.

And I STILL have ALL my digits--although one has a weird numb feeling...

Biscuits and greens? You sure can spot those Northerners easily.

Oh, now--I think Marc was just wanting to see if I'd learned my lesson about knives.
